dr Dennis Scheller-Boltz
Dr. Dennis Scheller-Boltz, born 1977 in Kiel (Germany), graduated in Translation Studies (Russian, Polish) at the Department of Applied Linguistics and Cultural Studies (FASK) at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (Germany) in 2003. He was awarded a doctorate degree in Slavonic/Polish Studies at the FASK at the University of Mainz in 2009 on the basis of his doctoral thesis „Präponeme und Präponemkonstrukte im Russischen, Polnischen und Deutschen. Zur Terminologie, Morphologie und Semantik einer Wortbildungseinheit und eines produktiven Kompositionstypus" [Preponemes and preponeme constructions in Russian, Polish, and German. On the terminology, morphology, and semantics of a lexical unit and a productive compound type]. Currently, he is writing his habilitation thesis on the topic „Gender and gender construction in Russian and Polish grammar". From 2008 to 2012 he was a DAAD lecturer at the University of Opole (Poland) where he lectured on translation studies and comparative linguistics (Polish, German). Since 2012, he is assistant professor at the Slavonic Department at the University of Innsbruck (Austria).

Main research interests/areas: morphology, word formation, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, gender and queer linguistics, lexicography (mainly in Russian and Polish).
